Wood Nuclear are recruiting a Project Manager to join our Generation Services team supporting our key Nuclear Generation Services clients on our long-term Frameworks. The position will be based from both our Birchwood Park and Knutsford offices, with time split between the two offices as required.
The role will involve regular travel to Gloucester, and may include ad-hoc travel to other Wood/Client locations.
The Project Manager will support the Programme Director by ensuring that all the Projects identified as part of the Programme are delivered effectively (safely, to cost, time and quality) and consistently by the project managers within the individual business areas to the client organisation. This role will include oversight of all key project delivery areas such as bidding, project controls (cost control, planning, reporting), technical delivery and resources, as well as liaising with the client on future projects.
The Project Manager will be part of the Wood team responsible for a technically complex programme which supports a much larger, business critical area of work within the client organisation, and as such delivery of each individual project will be challenging both technically and in terms of timescales.
The projects/workstream which make up the Programme are multi-disciplined and range in value and result in a portfolio generating several £M annually.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of all Task Orders within their assigned Programme/framework contracts and will coordinate the activities of a number of existing Project Managers within the Wood organisation, whose activities feed into the Graphite Programme. A key element of the role includes the interface with the client and their corresponding Project Management Teams, Wood staff embedded in the client's offices. In this role you will develop and agree the scope of work to be delivered and provide reach-back support from our Wood offices.
In this role you will be accountable to the Programme Director for successful delivery of all aspects of the Programme through the complete lifecycle. Such accountabilities include but are not limited to:
+ Deputise for the Programme Director in any periods of absence
+ Establishing and executing effective project delivery strategies covering estimating, bid preparation, project management and project controls to ensure successful delivery to time, cost and quality
+ Co-ordination/influence over a wider project management group linked to the Graphite Programme
+ Oversee /Supervise development of proposals and estimates for acceptance both internally and externally
+ Ensuring resource requirements are met by the Wood Technical Teams.
+ Applying Wood project management and project controls practices
+ Identifying and assessment of key risks and opportunities
+ Stakeholder Management
+ Contract/Commercial Management
+ Management of Project Engineering resources
+ Establishment and management of the Graphite Programme Project Management Plan and associated supporting documentation
+ Preparation for, attendance at, and production of minutes for monthly client governance meetings when required
+ Development of initial and updates to budget forecasts to support both Wood and the client
+ Monitoring and control of project performance
+ Identification of changes in the scope of work and ensuring that appropriate change requests are current and reflect the budget forecasts
+ Ensuring that Invoicing cycle is maintained, reviewing work in progress (WIP) levels and aged debt and ensuring that the project teams /task owners comply with policy and remain within set targets
+ Reporting - internally (weekly project progress tracker, monthly project/financial reviews) and externally (monthly project progress and cost reports to the client)
+ Experience of delivering multi-disciplined engineering projects
+ Experience in interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary functional groups
+ Experience in project administration and coordination
+ Exceptional verbal, written, organisational, presentational, computer and communication skills
+ Time management skills including meeting deadlines and multi-tasking
+ Planning, scheduling and chairing meetings to support project needs
