Most of our young people attend Oliver House School, an independent specialist day and residential school for children aged 6 to 19 who have autistic spectrum disorders and associated complex learning needs and challenging behaviour.

Our aim is to enable every young person to have positive experiences and progress according to their individual abilities. The desired outcome is for them to achieve success in accredited qualifications and to gain increased levels of independence in order to maximize their strengths, abilities and ambitions.

The homes operate a rolling rota which indicates your shift patterns for the following 12 weeks. A typical early shift would be 07:30-16:00 and a late shift 15:30-22:00. You will work a combination of early and late shifts as assigned by the house manager. We also offer the opportunity to earn an additional £35 for a sleep-in shift, as well as the possibility of overtime.

Personal Attributes:

* Patient, sociable and empathetic, in order to establish good relationships with our young people based on confidence, trust, understanding and mutual respect
* Prepared to deal with challenging behaviour which may be exhibited by a young person at any time for any number of reasons
* Willing to assist in household maintenance tasks such as cleaning in order to maintain the high level of cleanliness expected within the children's homes

What we offer:

* Opportunities in Ribbleton, Haighton, Leyland, Grimsargh, Penwortham, Lostock Hall and Leyland (please indicate preference in application)
* 33 days annual leave
* Full training
* Enhanced disclosure cost coverage
* Online benefits and cashback rewards
* Cycle to work scheme
* Dental insurance
* Travel insurance
* SMART pension option
* Health cash plan
