This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and organised individual to join our Park Ranger team dedicated to engaging with our local community with the aim of enhancing our local environment.
You will have a meticulous approach to the proper and effective promotion of our green spaces and to work with and alongside local people, contractors, elected members and other agencies to identify and resolve local environmental problems and improve the physical environment.
You will also assist in our extensive events programme, therefore ensuring that our parks are well used by tourists and local residents.
We pride ourselves on the breadth and variety of our community groups, stewarding our natural resources, we are encouraging wildlife and biodiversity into our parks and green spaces alongside traditional sports and amenity horticulture, and encouraging the local community to engage and help with the management of their local green spaces. You will help deliver this and ensure the team are fully engaged with and motivated with this agenda.
You will work a Monday to Friday working pattern but you will be expected to work weekends on a rotational basis one weekend in four and attendance at some evening meetings is also required.
This is a varied and dynamic role, requiring a broad knowledge and experience of a range of areas including knowledge and experience of practical, hands on horticultural and countryside management in the outdoors environment including use of powered and non-powered hand tools.
