We have opportunity to join our Infrastructure Team for a Technician / Senior Level Technician.

Cities Infrastructure – What we do

Our Infrastructure team works on some of the Practice's most interesting and challenging master planning and infrastructure schemes. Examples includes world class sports stadia, such as the Olympic Stadium and its transformation, the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium, and World Cup venues in Qatar. Further projects also include Transport hubs, such as expansions of Heathrow and Manchester Airports, and cultural venues such as The Louvre Au-Dhabi.

Summary of the Role

Our technicians form the building blocks of what we do and are key, valued members of the team. You will lead the technical design of infrastructure projects, being responsible for co-ordination with other disciplines. You will lead continuous improvement in our deliverables, through development of software and staff capabilities,

Work will involve the production and management of drawings, BIM models, calculations and technical reports for Infrastructure Engineering Design on a diverse range of exciting projects in the UK and across the world.


  • Undertake civil infrastructure design and masterplanning, from concept stage through to construction. Work typically includes drainage, earthworks, highways, pressurised water networks and other utility co-ordination.
  • You will be a key leader of our 3D design processes, providing support to the less experienced technicians within our team.
  • Work with enthusiasm, co-ordinating your work with other internal and external disciplines.
  • Manage the delivery of BIM models and CAD documentation of designs.
  • Undertake multidiscipline 3D clash detection
  • Compile BIM Execution Plans and deliver high quality products aligned with the project programme.
  • To maintain a good working knowledge of BIM processes and standards such as PAS1192-2
  • Actively participate in the wider BIM community through attendance and participation at industry events.
  • Prepare technical reports, specification and schedules.
  • Attend and contribute to external workshops with design partners.
  • Contribute to the planning of team workload.
  • Mentor and assist more junior Technicians.
  • Commit to your own professional development, and to that of the group through knowledge sharing and aiming to continually improve our product and processes

What will you bring to the role?

  • A technical background in infrastructure design, with a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Experience in developing a technical specialism in a core infrastructure discipline (for example, Highways or Sustainable Drainage).
  • Good communication skills, and willingness to positively interact will all members of the team.
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD.
  • High level of proficiency in AutoCAD and Civils 3D. Proficiency in MicroDrainage and Navisworks would also be advantageous.
  • Membership of a relevant institution or actively working towards professional registration status.
