Do you have a passion to help others? Help our Award winning charity to support and empower people with learning disabilities - it's one of the most heartfelt feelings in the world and something that will stay with you forever...
We are looking for a Part-time Support Worker to join our Lifelong Learning Service (18 hours per week)
About the role
You will play a key part in our Bucks Lifelong Learning facility assisting our happy and sociable young lady who has Downs Syndrome. She has limited communication skills but knows her own mind and what she wants and needs.
You'll help with a range of activities from the everyday living needs and ‘must dos’, through to the lighter side of life doing things like becoming involved with going out in the local community (especially on the bus which she really enjoys), having anything to do with Thomas the tank engine which is an absolute love of hers, listening to music, dancing (particulary to musical instruments such as the triangle) and going swimming. There will be some personal care involved.
We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.
We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.
