With the ability to evidence that you have served a recognised apprenticeship and an appropriate technical qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering (C&G/SCOTVEC) you will ensure compliance with all statutory duties and obligations in respect of the Council’s Operator licence. Post qualification experience is essential.
The post holder will be a qualified mechanic, with experience in the maintenance, repair and MOT testing of cars and LCV’s. The post will focus on our pool car fleet of over 100 cars as well as inspections on Lights Good Vehicles. It requires a competent individual with extensive vehicular diagnostic knowledge, auto electrical and analytical skills. Candidates will be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision to the highest standards, in a time and safety critical environment.
You must have a full driving licence and in addition also covering Class C would be desirable. You will be required to undertake standby duties on a rota basis – suitable payment in addition to the proposed salary will be provided.
Must be a current MOT tester with the ability to undertake MOT’s on class 4 &7 with 5 desirable.
