An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our pharmacy team at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. You will join our cohort of band 7 pharmacists who will be responsible for completing 6 months rotations in the following areas: Paediatrics, Critical Care, Haematology/Oncology, Respiratory, Gastro, Cardiology, Complex care and Surgery. There will also be opportunity to spent time working directly under the Education and Training Pharmacist as well as the Antimicrobial Pharmacist.
We are looking for a dynamic, organised and motivated pharmacist with excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient care. Your focus will be to deliver a patient-centred ward pharmacy service and forge strong links with other healthcare professionals. This will be achieved through attending consultant led ward rounds and MDT board rounds. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with Lead Pharmacists and given small to medium term directorate projects to further assist your development.
This is a great time to join the trust as we have recently restructured the Division of Medicine to deliver the Needs Based Care project and the trust is due to receive a 99 million pound investment from NHS England to completely develop the site. We are a digitally advanced trust with electronic prescribing already in place, and have installed a bespoke dashboard allowing pharmacists to prioritise their workload. This allows us to focus our efforts on patient facing activity and utilise pharmacists unique set of skills.
This opportunity presents the successful candidates with an excellent chance to build on their clinical knowledge across a broad range of specialties. We are fully committed to your training and development to enable you to maximise your potential contribution to patient care and would actively support the non-medical prescribing qualification, subject to funding.
