The purpose of the role is to assist with the delivery of Traffic Signals and Intelligent Transport Systems maintenance & operational activities across the Transport for Buckinghamshire Contract.
The role is predominantly office based but will involve site work including lone working and working outside of normal office hours.
To assist the Senior Traffic Signals team members, in overseeing all works relating to Traffic Signals and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) maintenance.
To assist with all works relating to Traffic Signal and ITS maintenance operations including quality of work, compliance with specifications, materials and productivity. To help audit and inspect works as required.
To assist with the development of risk assessments. Attendance at monthly Health and Safety meetings and operational performance meetings as required.
To help plan, organise and oversee Traffic Signal and ITS operations.
To assist the Activity Lead in overseeing the County Council's Confirm Asset and Siemen's InView databases. To help ensure the database are maintained, new works are added promptly and to focus on improving the accuracy of the data.
To assist with issuing emergency responses as appropriate.
To help manage and monitor the emergency response performance and achieve the annual target.
To liaise with Buckinghamshire County Council's Contract Centre regarding customer queries relating to Traffic Signal faults, asset enquiries and other maintenance issues.
To liaise with supply chain partners instructing work where necessary and assist with monitoring performance.
To help control traffic signal stock, including receipt of deliveries, issuing equipment, updating records stock checking and auditing.
To help with the recovery of Third Party Claims including the provision of information to the Third Party Claims Manager.
To deputise for the Senior Traffic Signal members as required and be part of the rota to cover the UTMC control room 0700 - 1900.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Educated to HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
An understanding of health and safety principles.
An understanding of the principles of risk assessments.
An ability to deal effectively with peers, client representatives, stakeholders and third parties.
A desire to continuously improve.
A willingness to develop an understanding of systems and software.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
