Permanent Full Time Position

MPR/UPR teachers +1 SEN point

January 2020 or late Autumn term if available.

Linwood School is an ‘outstanding’ all age ranged mixed day special school.

An exciting opportunity exists to appoint suitably experienced and qualified teacher at our Autism specific provision, Springwood Campus based in West Howe.

The successful applicant will be a competent and effective classroom practitioner with the ability to lead a small team of teaching assistants in the classroom. They will be required to teach a wide range of subjects as our teachers do not work in a subject specific way at Linwood School, although they would have subject responsibility. They will also need a sound knowledge of teaching literacy and numeracy skills and be confident to support learners with a wide range of abilities. They will teach a classroom of 6 students with a diagnosis of Autism and Severe Learning difficulties and will follow a semi-formal curriculum across KS2 and KS3.

Previous experience of working with children and young people with learning difficulties and/or social communication difficulties is desirable but not essential.
