We are looking for 1 part-time (four days) experienced counselor or psychotherapist with extensive experience of assessments and brief counselling interventions, to join a dynamic and innovative service. To be eligible to apply for a post, you must be either BACP Accredited MBACP and/or on an Accredited Register for Counselling with the Professional Standards Authority, for adults (BACP, UKCP, BPC, HCPC, NCS, UKAHPP).
If you are passionate about the benefits of short-term focused counselling and you have prior experience of working with a brief therapy model, ideally in a primary care / GP setting or an IAPT service, our service can offer you excellent supervision, team working, interesting clinical work and CPD.
The post is part-time, working 30 hours per week, one day of which should be a Wednesday. The service works extended hours and you will be expected to work one later evening a week to 8pm, when our main base has late opening hours. We offer highly specialised supervision and CPD.
Harrow Talking Therapies Service works to the IAPT national programme and is part of Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. We provide psychological therapies to adults with common mental health problems. We are a busy service and the team includes, CBT therapists, Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, assistant psychologists and an experienced and support administrative team.
Counsellors are supported to provide other specialist interventions such as Brief Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT), IPT, Counselling for Depression and Couple Counselling for Depression, as part of ongoing CPD and in line with individual appraisals. There is an exciting CPD programme run in conjunction with CBT colleagues and the service is committed to supporting excellent clinical practice, with experienced supervision. The service is committed to staff wellbeing and supports the Trust's Flexible Work/Life Balance policy.
The main service hub is based at Station Road, Harrow, counselors are also expected to work from GP surgeries and health centres as required
