The Estates Department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Estates Mechanical Maintenance Technician.
The post holder will work within the engineering team to carry out equipment maintenance and installation by conducting planned and reactive maintenance according to the requirements and needs of the department.
This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be liaising directly with clinical and non-clinical staff and service users. The post holder will have the skills to develop good working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team and have a strong commitment to delivering a professional estate service.
The successful applicant must have a broad working knowledge of mechanical systems, the ability to work from drawings and specifications without supervision and be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Applicants will require a minimum NVQ level 3 or Equivalent City & Guilds Qualification in a Mechanical Engineering qualification plus post apprenticeship experience working in an Acute Hospital or similar environment.
The service covers the acute hospital site and various sites within the community; therefore, car drivers are required in order to maximise visits without the requirement to carry heavy tools, equipment or materials on public transport. Applicants must hold a full Driving Licence and have a willingness and ability to travel between sites and to participate in the Trusts out of hours on-call rota.
