Salary: £79,860 - £107,668 per annum pro rata + 2% on call supplement + London weighting
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would like to join an established consultant team at St Joseph’s Hospice. The post is primary based with the St Joseph’s inpatient unit, although with the potential to have a greater community focus depending on the preferences of the post holder.
Although the post is based at St Joseph’s Hospice, the contract will be held by the Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
St Joseph’s is a large 28-bed hospice in Hackney, East London, with a community service covering an inner-city, ethnically diverse population in the boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, City and Hackney. There are excellent modern palliative services, which include a day hospice, complementary therapies centre, bereavement service and access to a multi-lingual advocacy team. Consultants are encouraged to input into a busy and active education centre and develop areas of specialist interest.
On-call commitment follows a 1:8 weeknights and weekends. Please see the RCP approved Job Description and Person Specification for more details. Full GMC registration with a licence to practise is essential and applicants should be on the specialist register for Palliative Medicine or be within 6 months of completion of training.
