Salary: £39,383 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week, with daily 30 min unpaid lunch break. Out of hours and rotated on call require alongside some weekend working

Contract: Fixed term for 2 years (extension may be possible, subject to funding)

The Brandon Centre is a charitable organisation that provides psychotherapy and counselling, contraception and sexual health services for 12 to 24 year olds and systemic integrative treatment for 8-16 year olds.

The Brandon Centre developed SIT (Systemic Integrative Treatment) following years of experience in MST (Multisystemic Therapy), working with families of children and adolescents displaying a range of problematic behaviours. The Centre undertook the first clinical trial of Multisystemic Therapy (MST) in the UK in 2003, participated in the first clinical trial of MST-PSB (problem sexual behavior) in 2011 and were also licensed to provide MST-SA (substance abuse).

BC-SIT has been running successfully for 2 years, and has been commissioned by a number of local authorities across London.

We have an exciting opportunity for motivated, creative and resilient practitioners who have proven track records in providing excellent clinical services with sound skills and knowledge to join our expanding BC-SIT team and to be part of a Home Office funded research project. We have been successful in our competitive bid to the Youth Endowment Fund to set up a new BC-SIT team, for 10-14 year olds, to work alongside our established and flourishing team. Our clinical outcomes will be evaluated by the University of Hertfordshire over a 2 year period, with the potential for funding to be extended, and the service rolled out to a wider area. This evaluation will contribute to the longstanding body of research undertaken by the Brandon Centre in the treatment of young people displaying antisocial behaviour, and the subsequent prevention of out of home placements.

We are looking for experienced clinicians who share our excitement and our passion for delivering BC-SIT to young people and their families across London. We are particularly interested in clinicians who have experience of working systemically with young people on the edge of care. The successful applicants will have clinical experience of working to address anti-social behaviour in young people and adolescents across multiple systems including family, peers, school and community. In addition, they will demonstrate knowledge and experience of assessment, treatment delivery, and risk management.

Post holders will participate in monitoring and evaluation activities and weekly group supervision. A capacity for flexible working and responding on call is essential.

The therapist applicants will have a Postgraduate degree in Psychology, Social Work (with additional psychological training), CBT, family therapy or a related subject area. (Individuals with a related undergraduate degree and significant clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behaviour in young people may also qualify at the discretion of the agency.)

If you require further information, please contact either Moira Lamond, BC SIT Clinical Lead and Manager or Carly MacDonald BC SIT Senior Supervising Therapist and Deputy on 020 7424 9935.

The Brandon Centre is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk of harm and expects all staff to share this commitment. We follow safer recruitment practices to protect children and adults at risk of harm. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (previously CRB).

The Brandon Centre is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
