An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified social workers at Humber NHS Foundation Trust

Humber NHS foundation Trust has recently expanded its workforce to include social workers and social care staff to support a personalised, preventative approach to mental health needs which promotes recovery and social inclusion.

Mental health services at the Trust arecurrently undergoing a transformation and social workers have a key role in contributing to the changes which will lead to a more locally based provision working closely with local health services and communities in Hull.

The Trust is keen to develop close working with local GP services and support the improvement of general health for people with severe and complex mental health problems.

You would be part of a multi-disciplinary team comprising of a range of professionals and access to professional support and supervision. As a member of the team you will be expected to contribute a view which counterbalances clinical models of mental illness and using your professional skills in partnership with others with a focus on human rights and safeguarding.

You will have a good knowledge and understanding of a range of mental health and Care Act legislation and promote the principles of well-being set out in the Care Act.

As a band 6 you will have be HCPC registered and have post registration qualifications such as Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor and or AMHP. You will have experience of mentoring students and supervising staff.

You will provide a social work service in line with legislative requirements, policy and professional practice and may deputise for the team manager as required.

The successful applicant needs to have the ability to commute within the Trusts geographical area with access to the appropriate means of transport is essential.

It is expected that the successful applicant will have previous experience and training for this post or be willing to work towards obtaining appropriate qualification/experience. The successful candidate will be put on the appropriate salary pay point based on their previous experience in the role or similar role. If you do not have appropriate training we are open to developing staff. You will be encouraged in your professional development.
