Job Background/context:

This role is within the Cash Securities Operations group which performs settlement and post settlement clearance functions for the CGM broker dealer.

The key function for this group is ensure all trades are settled and reconciled in a timely manner , all aspects of operational/ market risk is appropriately managed whilst adhering to all aspects of the regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that all deadlines are met, all unmatched and failed transits are investigated and satisfactorily resolved and that the reconciliation breaks identified are investigated and resolved

• Manage variable daily traded volume within the role; adhere to tight deadlines, involving large financial transactions.

• Be fully aware of time critical deadlines and fully conscious of high value transits and sensitive clients.

•Be able to support both the Delivery Management team and the Depo team by performing tasks across both teams.

• Ensure all account static is up to date and all transits are processed through Jasper. Take the lead on migrating manual instructions on to this preferred settlement platform

• Maintain a high level of customer service and support, to both external customers and key Citi staff

• Build strong relationships within the Cash Securities Operations group and become the key point of contact with settlements and clearance

• Ensure all tasks within the team are completed and provide support to Team Manager on all day to day tasks including monitoring operational/ market risk along with market deadlines.

• Build strong relationships with other areas, including DCC, treasury and technology

• Meeting all Control and Compliance requirements and updating procedures as required

• Being fully aware of information security requirements, and complying with the clear desk policies


• Work experience in the Financial Services Industry. Settlements and/or clearance experience is a benefit.

• Previous Delivery management experience

• Understanding and Experience of settlement systems including – Jasper/IOWA/ CD / OIS/ Euclid/ Settlement Web / ATLAS

•Understanding of risk and control / escalation protocol

• Displays a well-developed ability to schedule work and understand relative priorities.

• Building positive working relationships and working with team members to understand the root cause of an issue in a timely and effective manner.

• An understanding of the risk in not delivering a good service within the Client Service sector.


• Computer literate and ability to grasp several in house systems quickly.

• Analytical and problem solving skills are essential.

• Ability to investigate source of issue and advise of solution either technical or procedural to improve automation within the reconciliation.

• Demonstrates sound judgement and professionalism in decision making/problem solving, escalating to supervisor as appropriate

• Good Microsoft skills including Excel, Word and Outlook



•GSCE “A” Level standard or equivalent
