Curriculum Leader for Construction Apprenticeships

Kidderminster College is a thriving college in the heart of the West Midlands and an exceptional opportunity has arisen to become our Curriculum Leader for Construction Apprenticeships.

This is a significant new role in the college where you will act as the lead operational manager for apprenticeship provision in our Construction, Electrical and Auto Trades curriculum area, overseeing all aspects of the planning, delivering and monitoring of our rapidly growing apprenticeship provision.

You will lead on ensuring that the apprenticeship curriculum is relevant to the economic demands and ensure that the effectiveness and efficiency is to a high standard.

As part of your role, you will work closely with the Curriculum Leader for the College Apprenticeships and the Centre Training Manager to ensure that effective delivery is planned for and executed. You will also work closely with the Curriculum Leader for Construction, Electrical and Auto Trades who manages the full time and part time provision as well as the tutors and assessors to ensure the apprenticeship experience and achievements are outstanding.

Customer satisfaction will be at the core of everything you do, you will be responsible for liaising with our employers and other external stakeholders to maintain and continually improve standards.

You will also support the departments Employer Engagement Manager in raising new start profiles in the recruitment and selection of candidates.

Ultimately, you will successfully deliver programmes that develop the skills and capabilities of our apprentices, using best practice in people management and continuous improvement in learning. The role will require a dedication to devising new courses and successfully building and implementing them into curriculum.

In addition to your management duties you will have a timetable of teaching hours within the curriculum area, therefore we are looking for a highly skilled teaching practitioner with a teaching qualification and a relevant professional qualification in a related discipline.

The successful candidate will also need to have a flexible approach, be independent and proactive, coupled with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
