The NIHR ARC Wessex is a newly funded programme that provides high quality, implementation-based research to support decision makers in health and healthcare. The National Institute for Health Research Applied Research Collaboration (NIHR ARC) exists to improve the health of the people of Wessex and the quality and cost-effectiveness of health care.
Following some additional funding, we are looking for an administrator to support both the NIHR ARC Wessex, and an exciting new initiative called the NIHR Incubator – for Nursing and Midwifery.
Your main Responsibilities will include:
•Setting up of our governance and steering group meetings. Servicing these meetings and committees from sourcing the venue, through to minute taking, related actions and publishing them in a timely manner. This could be at a physical location or virtual.
•Arranging relevant events and ad-hoc meetings linked to the activities described within the work plans.
•Assisting the NIHR Incubator project manager in coordinating the annual plan, and updates to NIHR.
•Provision of customer and service support, including liaison with internal and external colleagues
An effective team player, you will provide administrative support across both programmes, and possess very good IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook. You will need good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining close attention to detail and a calm and cheerful manner. You will have proven organisational skills and an interest in and experience of supporting the development of health research and professionals in the UK
The NIHR Incubators have been developed, to support capacity building and multidisciplinary career development in priority areas where critical mass is low. Incubators will be virtual, and will provide targeted high-level career development support. The aim will be to encourage early career interest in target disciplines to build identifiable communities through networking and provision of bespoke training and development support.
Funding for this post is currently fixed term to 31 March 2022.
