Applications are invited to apply for one of 2 posts within our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in both north and south Worcestershire, to complement the expertise of our existing teams, and following a review of service need and departure of a colleague.
You will join other Consultant Psychiatrists, Specialty Doctors and a highly performing wider multidisciplinary team working across Worcestershire, all with a passion for providing and developing high quality specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
There have been recent advances in developing a community children’s eating disorder service and there are excellent links with the rest of Children’s Services, including Public Health Nursing and Community Paediatrics.
The CAMH Service is part of Worcestershire Children’s Health Services, which is a countywide integrated range of services. Worcestershire is committed to the continued development of a new and flexible mental health service for children and their families. You will be expected to be energetic and imaginative, with excellent leadership and team working skills and will play an important role in providing and reshaping the service to meet the needs of children and young people who have mental health problems.
Worcestershire Health and Care Trust has been rated “Good” at the most recent CQC inspection, and we currently hold Global Digital Exemplar Status. We are committed to effective and efficient use of digital technology.
It is essential you meet the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ criteria for appointment to a consultant post. Consideration will also be given to those applicants looking for flexibility with working arrangements. Development of a special interest will also be encouraged.

There is a 10 PA post both based at South Worcester CAMHS, Aconbury North, Newtown, Worcester and a 10 PA post based at Peartree Centre, Smallwood House, Redditch.
Please note that applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified/experienced individuals. However prior consideration will be given to applications from individuals who are ‘at risk’ and employed by Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. If an appointment is made from that at risk group, the post will be withdrawn.
