Job title: Volunteer Coordinator, Manor Gardens Welfare Trust
Hours: 36 hours per week

Location: Islington, London N7 with occasional work in neighbouring Boroughs
Manor Gardens Welfare Trust is a charity with an excellent history of supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing since 1913. Our mission is to help people take action to change their lives for the better, and our services promote mental and physical health and wellbeing and increase social inclusion. We operate across London and are based in Islington.
Our community activities are wide ranging and include services focusing on health advocacy, mental and physical health and wellbeing, working with refugee and migrant local communities, stroke support services, and two nurseries.
We are able to achieve the levels of impact we do due to the support of volunteers, who give their time in a number of ways, for example in supporting the running of our groups and activities, being a local mental health champion, becoming a befriender, or providing peer support. Many of our volunteers have been service users themselves, and our volunteering opportunities aim to provide a pathway into employment for many, as well as an opportunity for personal development and to give back to the local community.
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our organisation to lead the coordination of volunteering across our MGWT services, and work in collaboration with our Operations Manager to help develop our first coordinated strategy and model for volunteering.
This is an exciting new role for the organisation, and will be the first time we will be developing a cross-service approach to volunteering. This role will suit someone interested in gaining experience in developing a strategy and seeing it through delivery alongside leading the administration of our volunteering process. It will also suit a people person who enjoys working with diverse groups of people to support their development and wellbeing.
You will be encouraged to contribute across the organisation and grow and develop as a professional in this field.
Manor Gardens Welfare Trust is committed to achieving a diverse workforce that reflects the communities with which we work. We value, respect and celebrate diversity. We welcome and encourage applicants from all sections of the community regardless of their sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation or religious belief. We encourage applications from individuals with experience of volunteering alongside or instead of professional experience, and no academic background is required to apply.
Closing date for applications: 21/11/2019
