About Us

We are The Poppy Factory, a charity that has been supporting veterans with health conditions move into civilian employment for 97 years. In that time, our Richmond factory has also been home to the Remembrance poppy.

We are currently looking for a Finance Administrator to join us on a 12 month fixed-term contract, starting early/mid-December 2019.

Your Role

As a Finance Administrator, you’ll support the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures.

Working with our Finance Officer, Finance Manager and Finance Director, you will:

- Help to record VAT transactions
- Maintain our financial ledgers
- Process supplier invoices and staff expenses
- Reconcile property rents
- Contribute to the planning and preparation of annual accounts

About You

To join us as a Finance Administrator, you’ll need:

- Experience in a similar role in a finance department, delivering a service to the whole organisation
- Previous experience of maintaining tight financial controls and working to strict deadlines in a busy office
- Experience of accurately submitting financial transactions
- Excellent numerical and English communication skills
- An accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be qualified by experience

Experience gained in the charity/not-for-profit sector would be desirable, as would experience of VAT accounting in a charity environment. Experience with Sage 50 Accounts would be beneficial, as would experience of delivering a finance service to a remote/dispersed workforce.
