£22,417 - £25,941 per annum pro-rata.0.5fte Studentship comprising tuition fees (UK/EU rates), a tax-free maintenance grant (currently £15,009 per annum pro-rata), and a research training support grant
The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a part-time Psychology EEG Technician (0.5fte) combined with a part time (0.5fte) funded PhD EEG Studentship in Social Sciences. Separate applications must be made to HR for the post and to the degree programme via the University’s application system.
The role will provide dedicated technical, and administrative support for the School’s EEG Research Laboratory. The School of Psychology has comprehensive research facilities and has a substantial portfolio of labs and equipment. This role will be part of the School technical support team that provide technical assistance across the range of Research Facilities. The post holder will provide primary EEG support for the experimental work of academic staff, postgraduate research students, and research associates and will provide general support for students and staff (e.g. EEG training).
You will be required to undertake your research degree incorporating EEG methods and the project will need to cohere with the research interests of the staff in the School. See the further particulars for indicative projects.
Candidates should typically hold an Honours degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 2:1 and a Master’s degree with research methods training appropriate to the discipline and with a dissertation mark of at least 65%, as well as being able to satisfy all essential criteria detailed in the person specification.
The post is available from 1 January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter on a part-time, fixed term basis for 6 years.
