Are you positive and creative? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms? Only open to Female applicants due to the requirements of the service.*
We are looking for a part-time, flexible Support Worker to work 20 hours across two of our homes.
You will play a key part in assisting our adults to live as independently as possible across the two services.
Our Outreach service is a brand new set-up so it will be an exciting time to join the team. You'll be supporting our lady in her own home to feel comfortable and secure along with getting involved with a variety of activities and hobbies. There will be some lone hours here (day time) however, we will provide you with all the training and support you'll need so you'll be confident with what to do.
Our other service in Ellesmere Port is home to four people with learning disabilities. Here you will also be supporting our adults to become active members of their community along with becoming involved in other exciting hobbies and interests including; going to the countryside, visiting animal parks, trips to the seaside, going out and about, listening to music, dancing at the disco, watching films at the cinema, enjoying meals out, walking round garden centres and even going to the theatre.
Because of the complexity of some of our adults learning disabilities, some people require help with intimate care or medication. They can display challenging behaviour and require emotional reassurance and support. As mentioned, we will give you all the training and support you'll need including specialist positive behaviour support training.
What we need from you
Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a Support Worker but it’s not easy. The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no 2 days are the same and the reward of seeing YOUR personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget.
As long as you have the passion and drive to want to make a real difference, we’ll teach you the rest. With your key attributes and our training, together we can deliver the best possible support.
You will need to hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK.
We are an Award winning Charity that has the core belief that everyone has potential, something to offer and a valuable contribution to make to their community.
We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behavior Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.
