This delightful home is found in a tranquil setting on the outskirts of Mansfield town centre; offering residential care for people who need help with daily tasks, and nursing care for those who have complex medical needs. We also provide both residential dementia care and 24-hour nursing dementia care for our residents who require it.
Task Responsibilities Include:
* Support the Manager in implementing all departmental policies and procedures and in carrying out tasks related to budgets, Health and Safety, staff supervision, training and appraisal, and recruitment of care staff. * Support the Manager to create and maintain a positive approach to resource creation is the norm. * Support the Manager to ensure that the service provided is of highest possible quality within available resources. * Assist with the evaluation and monitoring of the service. * Ensure that all service users and carers are enabled and encouraged to participate in all decisions affecting their lives, the design of services to meet their needs and users within the home. * Report shortfalls to the Manager. * Assess the preparation and presentation of reports and assessments. * Design and implement rotas to suit the needs of the establishment and which will maximise the use of staff over a twenty-four period. * Assess and supervise the assessment of client need and ensure that an appropriate level of care is provided through sensitive care practices, designed to preserve individuality and maximise independence. * Delegate key worker duties to care assistants. * Liaise with Social service personnel and other outside agencies in relation to current or prospective residents, and to convene and / or participate in case conferences, design care plans and rehabilitative programmes as required. * Ensure that the social, occupational, recreational, medical, dietary and religious needs of clients are met whether indigenous or ethnic origin. * Work on a rota basis and respond to emergency calls when required. * Act as chair-person at staff or other meetings when required. * Ensure the control and disposal of prescribed drugs and medications.
Skills and Experience
* Three years post-registration experience, with evidence of on-going continuing professional development. * Working knowledge of Health & Social Care Act 2008 and National Minimum Standards. * Excellent organisation, administrative, written and verbal skills. * Demonstrable leadership and management skills. * Excellent IT skills. * Training experience. * Ability to source evidence-based practice/best practice guidance. * Clinical skills as specified by the Head of Care.
* Valid NMC Pin * Clear DBS * Authorised to work in the EEC * A Registered General Nurse or Mental Health Qualification. * Good knowledge of the most up-to-date clinical practices. * Experience of producing well-developed care plans and detailed risk assessments. * An understanding of regulatory frameworks, including DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines.
