We are seeking to appoint a one-year research associate to work as part of the XR Stories project in the Department of Theatre, Film, Television and Interactive Media at the University of York. XR Stories is a £15 million investment by AHRC, the University of York, BFI and Screen Yorkshire – along with a wide range of creative and cultural industries partners and Yorkshire Universities. The project is set up to provide research and development funding to push forward the potential of immersive and interactive technologies for digital storytelling.Role
XR Stories recently funded 14 collaborative R&D projects which bring together SMEs and academics based in Yorkshire and the Humber. They are designed to explore, scope, develop or investigate the application of immersive/interactive technologies for digital storytelling.
The research associate will work on three tasks:
The role includes the following duties: designing and conducting interviews; development and execution of an evaluation framework; analysis and interpretation of research data; identification of future developments in immersive and interactive storytelling; collation and synthesis of researching findings; contribute to the preparation of research outputs for academic, business and policy audiences through publications, seminar and conference presentations; organisational and administrative activities connected to the research project.
Due to funding restrictions the successful candidate needs to be in post by the end of February 2020 at the latest.Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
