We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Residential Support Worker to join our children's home based in Fieldfare, Northallerton.
Our home is specifically designed to accommodate young people with complex needs within a homely residential environment, situated within a semi-rural picturesque location close to North Allerton.
Our home offers a range of nurturing and stimulating experiences in outdoor activities such as equestrian and small animal care, horticultural and agricultural projects.
Our therapy and care support up to 6 young people aged between 6-19 years who have a range of abilities and needs which may include Autism
Level 3 Residential Childcare qualification is desirable but not essential for this role (we can support with the training of this.)
Successful applicants will ideally have previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour.
Due to the rural location of the home near Northallerton, and duties involved supporting the young people you would need to be a car driver and have a valid driving licence.
Our support Worker roles in Fieldfare, Northallerton offer a salary of up to up to £18,500 per annum plus nightly sleep in allowance.
There is an opportunity for overtime if desired also.
As a Support Worker, you’ll be doing the following:
•Be the young person’s champion and as part of the wider team strive to ensure that they achieve their aspirations and full potential
•Manage the well-being and behaviour of young people ensuring behaviours are addressed promptly and sensitively
•Assist senior staff with the writing and maintaining of placement and risk management plans
•Support young people in daily activities including family contact, attending local clubs, 1:1 activities in the community, promoting independence and social behaviour
•You will be assigned a key child and play a pivotal role in their day to day life including attending reviews and liaising with external agencies
•Support and encourage educational engagement
A family is 24/7 and so are we. We use a rota system to ensure the young people in our home get the care they need. As a Support Worker, in our Home you can you should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some weekends and bank holidays. This role will include some double shifts with sleep in’s. Rotas are planned with advance notice.
