Rethink Mental Illness is currently recruiting a number of Mental Health Recovery Workers for their Bank register to join our housing service in Derby, which helps people affected by mental illness to maintain their tenancies.
Working with people in our housing schemes, you will give valuable information as well as helping individuals to develop basic living skills, regain control of their lives and manage their homes appropriately.
An important part of this role is liaising with partner agencies, housing providers and voluntary organisations to signpost tenants to services and facilities that are right for them. You will develop and maintain constructive relationships with tenants, carers, partner agencies and service providers.The role also involved tenancy sign ups and property re-lets, day to day running of a service, and health and safety of the schemes we manage.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Contribute to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse and harm to self and others who use Rethink services or carers To provide Tenancy Advice Services to service users, including one to one individual guidance and inform other mental health agencies. Enabling individuals to self manage their personal and domestic resources To work with people referred to the service and their support providers to assess their tenancy management needs and draw up agreed plans of housing related support tailored to their individual needs and circumstances; To work with our tenants to enable them to gain confidence and develop the skills required to manage their homes as independently as possible; To engage positively with tenants who are socially excluded and have difficulty in accessing services; Assist with anti-social behaviour issues or any other concerns tenants may have with their home environment
