As a Sales Executive, you'll be working in an office environment, contacting potential business customers by telephone. The role will be made up of a combination of following up surveys and quotes with current and potential customers, establishing rapport and identifying opportunities within prospects and re-engaging with lost customers.

The key objective of the role is to support the New Business team in developing opportunities for the Sales Development Manager to follow up on. You will work closely with the New Business sales teams across the country. You may also carry out market research and following up on marketing campaigns into key target segments.

What you will do:

  • Your working day is spent on the phone making outgoing calls based on a script.

  • Initiate new calls to generate interest and secure appointments with prospective customers

  • Identify, contact and generate leads to gain market share

  • Perform business searches on the internet

  • Assess prospect needs and document potential sales opportunities to Sales Development Managers.

  • Log calls and update database accurately with prospect information

  • Present daily reports and other related performance feedback

  • Review monthly hit rate and status report

  • Updating Salesforce.com with contact information and activity

  • Describe the service/product benefits and any special offers.

  • Give advice about how these may benefit customers personally.

  • Persuade customers to accept a visit from a Sales Development Manager.

  • Enter your notes into a computer, including dates for follow up calls.

  • Take orders and arrange for follow up appointments.

The work is fast paced and intense, with a steady stream of activity to follow up on. For certain campaigns you have only a short amount of time to build rapport with customers and explain the features and benefits of the service/product. Other campaigns will be following up on quotes and surveys to engage with the customer to see if they wish to proceed; overcoming objections where required. The following up of new leads generated from Marketing campaigns will also fall within the job role, to measure interest, overcome objections to seek an appointment for the local Sales Development Manager. By using Salesforce.com it will help you to build a pipeline of leads and prospects who you can nurture through to conversion to an appointment.

Position details:

  • The candidate must reside or be commutable to in or around Northwich, Cheshire

  • You’ll work in an open plan office, with workstation containing a computer and telephone headset.

  • Permanent, full-time, 40 hours a week.

  • Competitive salary with bonus structure

Minimum Qualifications:

Min 2 to 3 years’ telesales experience.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CRM system.

Good numeracy and literacy skills.

Sales technique and personality are a must.

Preferred Qualifications/skills:

  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • A polite, confident and friendly manner

  • Initiative

  • Confidence using computers and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience using CRM Systems (ideally Salesforce.com)

  • To enjoy working with customers and building relationships.

  • A positive attitude.

  • Flexibility and quick thinking.

  • Perseverance and the ability to respect customers' answers.

  • Good knowledge about all the company's products and services.

  • To be well-organised and thorough, even under pressure.

  • To enjoy working within a target-driven team environment.

  • To understand and comply with the legislation relating to direct marketing.
