Bickerley Green is offering a unique opportunity for an ambitious Nurse and natural leader to join the team as a Deputy Manager, where you will be able make a real difference to the day-to-day running of the home.
We are looking for a clinical lead who can further enhance our thriving team, supporting our Registered Manager to continually improve standards, develop services and manage change.
Clinical and support staff will look directly to you for leadership and you’ll provide it, developing quality working practices and training that gets the best from everyone. Your everyday experiences will put you in a position to influence key decisions on budgets, workforce development and clinical care planning. In addition to mentoring and coaching staff, you’ll play a key role in building relationships with everyone from visitors to professional agencies and individuals. Underpinning everything will be your commitment to meeting residents’ individual needs.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with older people/people with dementia. We’ll expect you to combine your skills in staff management, training and development with the confidence to manage relationships with outside partners from the health and voluntary sectors. Not least, you’ll need to be a natural problem solver who’s focused on creating meaningful change.

Organisation and Problem Solving
Working with the Registered Manager, the post holder will lead on the clinical/operational management issues on a daily basis. The post holder takes overall responsibility for the home in the Manager's absence.
Setting and Monitoring Standards
Assist in developing a culture of continuous quality improvements. This will require regular monitoring on the care given by staff and ensuring that the appropriate skills are in place across the team. Facilitating and delivering identified skills training on site, or in other identified units, followed by coaching and mentoring of staff to enable skills/training to be put into practice. Consulting with clients and carers to set standards of services to be provided.
Monitoring/auditing of medication/care plans and all documentation will be undertaken in accordance to the Clinical Governance framework and Care Standards Act.Liaison/Service Development
Assist the Manager in representing the service to visitors and other agencies to promote positive relationship, effective consultation and partnership working. Respond to concerns raised and facilitate change to services provided. Help to continually develop the service with the management team. To meet the ever changing needs of our residents.
Assist in maintaining and developing close working relationships with other agencies (e.g. Health, voluntary sector) to ensure the provision of nursing places in ADS homes meet the communities’ wider needs through the effective use of hospital beds and the provision of nursing care in a social care setting.
Corporate and statutory initiatives - equalities/health and safety/ e-government/sustainability
Role model, through own conduct to promote best practice in care delivery. Monitoring and were necessary challenging behaviour of staff to improve care practice. Demonstrate anti discriminatory practice in all aspects of recruitment and service provision.
