The Pavement and Materials Engineer will work under the guidance of the Associate and will be responsible for the design, materials specification and research of various types of pavement and materials projects.
Delivering pavement and materials projects requiring interpretative reporting, evaluation of data, design, and specification
Project Manager to implement the technical quality requirements, address the project brief, meeting the client’s programme and budget control within AECOM’s Project Management system
Managing fieldwork projects including commercial and health and safety requirements, site supervision during investigation or construction works and monitoring of site trials
Development of Proposals and Marketing literature for pavement & materials services
Support to assist other team members at all levels; and mentoring of junior members of the team including Technicians and Apprentices
Liaison with clients at their offices and contractors on-site, coordination/chair kickoff/progress meetings/workshops.
Working with the wider pavement team and other disciplines, liaising with laboratory and operations staff to understand and deliver the project technical brief
Champion for Quality and establishment/challenge best practice Procedures
Knowledge of Materials behavior and the underlying standard specifications including Concrete, Asphalt, Soil Stabilisation, Pavement Engineering, Materials production, Material Trails, and Testing, Quality control, Material Approval Reviews, Project Management and Site Supervision
Knowledge of pavement engineering demonstrated by experience in pavement design, investigation and research.
Knowledge or experience of highway and airfield pavement engineering projects
Knowledge or experience of UK pavement design methodologies and contract documentation, including MCHW.
Experience of pavement investigation projects for maintenance design and failure investigation
Working knowledge of the preparation of proposals and communication with clients
* BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualification
