You'll join our friendly teams, enabling people with learning disabilities to increase their independence; there's lots of variety. You'll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you'll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres. If you're new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. You'll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is essential.

All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required and you may work some waking nights. The salary for these roles is £16,953 - £17,774 pa.
All support workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
