The Opportunity

Asset Through Life Management Lead, Hinkley Point C, Competitive Salary & Benefits

The purpose of asset through life management are to ensure that the integrity and reliability of the critical assets are appropriately managed such to ensure that the risk complies with ALARP principles and meets all regulatory requirements, hence underwriting safe, reliable operation. The Asset Through Life Management (ATLM) Lead will ensure that the asset through life arrangements, standards and procedures are developed and implemented using top down guidelines.

The job will further require that the candidate supports the development and implementation of the baseline asset through life plans for structures, systems and components (SSC) during the construction phase. The candidate will also support the evolvement of the ATLM processes as the project matures to ensure that the plant operational requirements for ATLM are met. The current phase of the project is early construction phase; hence this provides time to put the correct processes in place for the longer term ATLM needs.

Your day to day duties will include:

  • Lead the development of asset through life management standards processes and procedures to support the construction, erection and commissioning of power plant equipment.
  • Establish the SSC through life baseline plans for HPC assets.
  • Support the development of spares strategy related to asset through life single point of vulnerabilities required to support commissioning and operations of HPC.
  • Contribute to the equipment reliability work aimed at the availability targets set for operations and commercial operation delivery.
  • Ensure that necessary baseline plans are populated with the correct LTQR for as left conditions during the build and as commissioned conditions after commissioning is complete.
  • Author arrangements, processes and workflows as required and represent Asset Management in workshops and meetings.
  • Support the development of data transfer of asset information and the ongoing development of asset information requirements joining ATLM with the rest of asset management.
  • Use INPO AP913 and other international standards to benchmark ATLM work.
  • Ensure that short term maintenance, long term maintenance and future outage work scope for critical equipment tie in with all ATLM work.
The Person

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual, who has previous leadership experience in an associated professional area for 5 years.

We are looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated with a positive attitude and able to work under their own initiative. You'll need drive, a sense of ownership and a “can do” attitude. You will be trained as to why nuclear is special and be required to demonstrate the highest standards of nuclear professionalism and safety.

The Skills


  • Previous experience of the development of an appropriate asset through life strategy.
  • Previous experience in leading the establishment of Asset Through Life Management processes and procedures or asset through life management.
  • Integral knowledge of equipment reliability and materials integrity management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as PSSR, equipment qualification and nuclear safety cases.
  • Design specifications – Experience of dealing with system design manuals and OEM recommendations.
  • Previous experience of using asset management systems to support the through life management strategy.
  • Effective leadership capability and the ability to operate at a senior level and provide effective management reporting for a multi-million-pound asset.
  • Previous leadership experience in an associated professional area for 5 years+.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline or supply chain disciplined chartered status


  • Experience of working in a Nuclear Environment, underwriting safety cases.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Site Licence Conditions.
  • Awareness of Construction Design Management requirements.
  • Proven knowledge of through life management models, tools and strategies.
  • Experience of leading teams in a programme-driven project environment
  • Post graduate qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering, supplemented by a baseline management qualification
