Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to be Headteacher of our successful and friendly school? Our present Headteacher will be retiring at the end of this academic year. We are therefore seeking to appoint a passionate and committed leader to build on the school’s considerable strengths from September 2020.
Our school is a vibrant learning community situated on the outskirts of Harrogate. The school was built in 1919 and we have added further extensions and a new canteen since that date. Bilton Grange Primary School was one of three founding schools in 2015 to become part of Yorkshire Collaborative Academy Trust. We are committed to collaborative working practices and hold two joint training days a year.
It is a special place where staff go the extra mile to ensure that all children’s needs are met. We are a large school of 315 pupils on the outskirts of Harrogate. Our curriculum is always at the heart of everything we do as we want our children to achieve their full potential by enabling them to experience a broad range of subject areas within a knowledge-rich curriculum. We have held Artsmark Gold twice and have just applied again with our evidence. Creativity in its widest sense is very important to us. From their starting points our children make strong progress and reach above National Average attainment when they leave the school. Children are encouraged to take a pride in everything they do. High expectation is central to our ethos as is creating a genuine family atmosphere built on mutual respect. Our children are happy, friendly and very polite. We have a supportive Local Governing body and many parent volunteers.
We are proud of what our children achieve and are determined to continue to be a self-improving learning community.
