Role Summary:This 1 year internship will be based at the GE Monitoring and Diagnostics site in Lisburn, and is an excellent work experience opportunity for an enthusiastic university student who is interested in the application of physics/fundamental science in industry. The successful applicant will work within the core technology and wider engineering teams, working in the area of dissolved gas analysis (DGA) using photo acoustic spectroscopy.
+ Learn & understand the operation of Kelman/Hydran DGA equipment
+ Work as part of the core technology team on R&D projects and equipment testing
+ Conduct product and experimental testing to agreed plans
+ Document and present results to management and the wider engineering team
+ Completed at least 2 years in Physics or Physics- related degree
+ A strong scientific background & interest/experience in hands-on experimental work.
+ The ability to work within a team, or under own initiative
+ The ability to understand and present new concepts clearly/effectively (including use of appropriate computer programs) .
+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
