Archbishop Ilsley is a large and thriving 11 -18 Catholic comprehensive school situated in South East Birmingham. We have 1210 students on roll, 153 of whom are in the Sixth Form. The Governors are looking to appoint a qualified, enthusiastic and committed School Nurse
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily organisation and administration of first aid, including administering medication and contacting parents of sick children. They will also take an active role in assisting with the delivery of Health Education to pupils, advising staff and preparing resources. They will work closely with the Pastoral Team and designated Local Authority school nurse with regards to pupils with medical issues and be responsible for the organisation of routine immunisations. On occasion there may be the need to take pupils home, accompany them to hospital or undertake home visits for those pupils with serious medical conditions. Good administration skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure is essential for this role and experience of working with children and young people aged 11 – 18 would be an advantage.
