An outstanding opportunity to work alongside a serial entrepreneur.
The individual in question has a number of major global deals in the pipeline and the role of the Corporate Finance Advisor is to work with the entrepreneur and the shadow leadership team to secure funding for the businesses.
Remuneration will be negotiable and will be based on a % fee of secured funding, together with equity in the new venture(s). Successful performance in securing funding will open up the opportunity for a longer-term contract on a permanent salaried or retained basis, together with continuing performance-based fees and equity participation. The potential multiples on the business(es) are very high so there is an opportunity for the right candidate to achieve significant capital growth.
The most advanced project is a new global company with an innovative social networking proposition and extremely ambitious but achievable growth plans. A detailed and thorough business plan is available, supported by extremely positive market research, and a large amount of content has already been developed for the business.
The existing shadow leadership team has already secured a guarantee of 50% of first round funding; subject to matching funds being obtained from other private investors. Securing the additional funding is the first challenge for this role.
The successful candidate will need to have extensive experience in corporate finance and funding high-growth businesses and must be able to demonstrate an existing extensive network of potential investors and an excellent track record of success.
Once the initial funding has been secured the role will shift focus to establishing and supporting the expansion and growth of the business and securing ongoing rounds of funding as per the business plan. There will be continued funding activity as it is anticipated that there will be the need for a number of additional funding rounds in the initial years to finance growth.
There will also be the opportunity to expand the role to other companies in the portfolio.
Whilst specific industry experience is not the key criterion prior senior connections and networks in or with one or more of technology, media, telecommunications and financial services would be advantageous. It is important that all candidates have an outstanding and credible track record in raising funding for global start-ups in the social media and entertainment sectors and have an excellent understanding of valuations in these sectors. An excellent wide-ranging investor network is a pre-requisite for the successful candidate.
