Salary up to £50K – Dependent on Experience


We are currently looking for an Operational Risk and Control Manager or Analyst. We are open to applications for both levels and the salary/role will be dependant on experience. In this role you will support the Operations Risk and Control Manager/ Senior Operational Risk and Control Manager in early identification and assessment of operational, data and technology risk, effective design and evaluation of controls, and practical solutions to mitigate operational and technology risk by first line of defence. The role is responsible for the oversight and management of 1st line risk ensuring that the risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people and systems or from external events is fully identified, managed and mitigated with appropriate control culture.

Key accountabilities:
  • Support the implementation and monitor adherence to all defined risk, technology and data management processes to manage information risk under the leadership of Senior Risk and Control Manger and Head of Risk and Control, AXA UK&I Operations, First Line of Defence (FLoD).
  • Support risk assessments and controls testing for in-scope processes across Operations, Data and Technology for AXA UK&I FLoD.
  • Assist in establishing inherent risk ratings, control rating, and residual risk rating of information risks.
  • Monitor and test the design effectiveness and operational effectiveness of information risk controls using risk-focused control assessments to determine the individual control ratings of in-scope controls
  • Support the assessment of controls for coverage of the control objectives. Identify and document control gaps
  • Communicate control gaps and deficiencies, risk exposures, and changes to the information risk profile to senior management and Second Line of Defense, as appropriate.
  • Support the production and review of assessment reports prior to communication with appropriate stakeholders
  • Monitor and perform ongoing management of risks, policy non-compliance and control gaps

  • Dealing at Senior Manager level
  • FCA/PRA regulations and internal AXA Group policies
  • IFC/ SOX knowledge (preferred)
  • ITIL and ISO knowledge (preferred)
Analyst level:
