We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Electrical Machine Design Engineer to work in collaboration with the University of Sheffield and Gibson Technology Ltd.
Gibson Technology is a world leading supplier of expertise in high performance race engines, based near Derby. Due to expansion and diversification into new markets, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our business. You will become part of a dynamic new team working to design and develop advanced electrical machines to be used for ultra-power dense portable electrical generation.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the company’s new electrical capabilities division. As a proactive person, you will have the desire to create something new and be enthusiastic and motivated in your approach. The role will mainly be based at Gibson Technology in Repton, South Derbyshire, although as an employee of the University of Sheffield you will also have the opportunity to access the facilities and expertise within the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department there.
This is a fixed term contract for 18 months funded through Gibson Technology and Innovate UK via a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) (www.ktp-uk.org/). A KTP is a UK Government scheme promoting sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry. As part of the KTP role a structured training and development programme will be provided, tailored towards your personal development and future career. A key aspect of your position will be working alongside a KTP funded Power Electronics Design Engineer to integrate the developed models into portable electrical generation.
