## We are looking for an Security Officer to join our team in Daylesford, Gloucestershire.
**Main responsibilities include:**
- To ensure the safety and well being of family members when in residence. - To ensure the safety and well being of guests. - To ensure that the house and contents are kept secure. - To carry out regular patrols of the property. - To operate and monitor all land line telephones during ‘silent hours’ - To have a good working knowledge of all staff on the estate and their roles.
To monitor the movements of any unknown person entering the estate and to be prepared to challenge when appropriate in a polite but efficient manner as to their business. Note: There are public footpaths running through the estate where members of the public do have the right to walk.
To have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all intruder, gas and fire alarm systems.
To provide a professional security provision at all times.
To undertake additional gardening and security maintenance duties.
Control and manage the use of CCTV cameras in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Company policies.
- Ensure the effective use of CCTV systems. - Proactively provide crime prevention advice where appropriate. - Assist the relevant authorities (when appropriate) in preventing and detecting crime. - Carry out any driving functions that may be required. - Assist in a courteous and professional manner all visitors to the estate - Accurately record all incidents and assist in their investigation where appropriate. - Identify and deal with as appropriate any Health and Safety Issues. - Provide first aid as and when required. - To work closely and communicate with the Farm Shop Security at all times. - To meet and greet anyone entering the Courtyard while on duty. - To operate from within the Security Office of the house and to carry out miscellaneous jobs requested by the family. - To care for the welfare of the family pets, namely dogs. - Communicate with the JCB Central Control Room at all times - Ensure that a full hand over is done each morning with the duty staff. - - The successful applicant will:- - Clearly show that that they have the ability to operate in an environment where discretion and confidentiality is paramount. - Must have a ‘clean’ Criminal Records Bureau record and produce evidence accordingly of that fact. - Possess a full and clean driving licence - Have a minimum of two years experience in security or related industry. - Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. - Must be smart in appearance at all times. - To be able to work on their own or as a member of a team. - To clearly show that they have the ability to think clearly and act decisively in the event of an incident. - Demonstrate a good understanding of criminal law, the procedures for dealing with offenders and offences under The Police & Criminal Evidence Act. - Display a clear understanding of the Data Protection Act / Freedom of Information Act and how to interpret them as far as CCTV is concerned. - To have a good understanding of CCTV systems and how they operate. - Be flexible in their approach to working hours. This job will include shift working. - Be computer literate - Operate any radio systems. - To hold a current first aid defib certificates or be prepared to undergo training. - To undertake any other function or responsibilities that is reasonably so requested.
