As a Senior Consultant in the Rail Planning Team, based in either Bristol or Cardiff, you will:
be expected to mentor graduates, impart your wisdom and check tasks undertaken by your more junior colleagues;
have the ability to handle the project management of smaller projects, including cost control and client liaison;
have an analytical mind and background;
have knowledge and experience in modelling, appraisal and evaluation of public transport schemes, including application of TAG/WelTAG guidance.
have good working knowledge of standard rail industry modelling tools and techniques (such as Moira and/or Railsys), together with a strong understanding of the relative merits of approaches such as Passenger Demand Forecasting Handbook principles versus more bespoke modelling;
have excellent spreadsheet skills;
have strong technical and report writing skills;
be able to explain technical concepts to others, including colleagues and clients; and
have strong background knowledge of the structure of the GB rail industry.
Front line supervisor who manages individual contributors.
Responsible for the overall quality of staff’s work and oversees projects.
Has project or task level financial accountability.
Typically supervises a headcount of less than 10 people.
Degree in numerate discipline, ideally Masters.
Membership or working towards membership of a chartered professional institution such as CIHT, TPS, CILT or ICE.
