We are currently recruiting a Deputy Manager at The Courtyard Restaurant at Coventry University.

The Courtyard is a brand new, exciting shared space restaurant at Coventry University serving hot and cold food and drinks for students to enjoy. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks are completed to deliver great customer service, coffee and food to our customers at all times.

We are looking for an individual who has a passion for food and drinks, customer service and innovation to take this exciting new venture forward!

With self-motivation, ambition and strong people and leadership skills, you will ensure outstanding service delivery that exceeds our client and customer expectations.

Job Description

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding customer service and high quality food and drink offers to all customers
  • Ensure all food and drink is prepared fresh and to a high standard as per service level agreement, company policy and current legislation
  • Manage, develop and inspire the existing team to ensure a high quality service is delivered, providing coaching and training when required
  • Ensure the front of house set up and close down procedures are followed on a daily basis
  • Ensure financial documentation, costings and accountancy of the unit (and those from suppliers) is accurate and within agreed budgeted levels
  • Order and control stock levels and administration
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with individuals at all levels within the Company and the Client organisation
  • Manage all aspects of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene
The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience of leading a team within a catering/food retail environment
  • Barista experience with an extensive knowledge of coffee
  • Strong customer focus and ability to communicate at all levels of the business
  • Good financial awareness
  • Personal innovation and passion for quality food
  • Willing to work towards Level 3 Food Safety
  • Excellent attention to detail and passionate about people and service
  • Confidence to lead and engage teams
  • Good financial awareness
