Permanent position, 36.5 hours per week.
The School of Engineering are seeking to appoint a Precision Engineer to provide technical support for undergraduate and post graduate students from all across the School, plus provide technical support for researchers and academics, ensuring a range of laboratory and teaching equipment is properly maintained.
You will hold a full engineering apprenticeship, to ONC/HNC Eng. qualification and have substantial experience in a tool making or engineering development environment. A high level of skill and knowledge in a wide range of disciplines including computer numerical control (CNC), 3D manufacturing techniques, milling and turning. Fitting, fabrication, design, various welding techniques and general workshop processes knowledge and experience would be desirable.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with relevant experience of working independently and as part of a team. Flexibility, the ability to work independently and strong time management skills are also required.
