What does an apprenticeship at Ian Williams involve?
You will attend college at least one day per week to study your chosen trade. Working on a variety of sites, you will get the opportunity to put your new skills into practice under the expert guidance of our experienced tradespeople. A mentor will support you along the way and help you to develop the skills and behaviours needed to progress in your career.
You will carry out a range of tasks including measuring and preparing materials, 1st and 2nd fix of building components and repair and maintenance activities. You could be working on commercial sites or in domestic dwellings.

What skills will I need to apply?
You should have a genuine passion for carpentry and hands-on practical work. You need to have a positive attitude and a commitment to building your career. You will also need good numerical and literacy skills to pass the Training Provider’s entry assessment. GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4 or above in Maths and English are desirable but functional skills in English & Maths will form part of the apprenticeship if required. You need to be able to work well in a team and have a flexible attitude towards work.

Interviews will be held between 22nd June - 03rd July. Candidates that are successful at interview will proceed to the final stage where they will need to register with our Training Provider and complete their entry assessment.
