As part of our commitment to running the railway smoothly day-to-day, we take great care of our customers. Their experience must be, quite simply, excellent. So when trains are delayed, it's of crucial importance to keep commuters and train and freight operating companies fully informed. Our Attribution team monitors real time train operations and allocates reasons for any delays.
Using a sophisticated, bespoke IT system, you'll liaise with a wide range of people to record, report and support solutions around rail delays. Assisting with schedule changes, you'll help to keep Britain moving.
When delays happen within a particular geographical area, you'll liaise with Signalling staff and other rail industry employees. Having established the situation, you will use our sophisticated delay causation IT system to record the details. Within the system, you'll create incidents and attribute the reasons for delays. Crucially, you'll confirm the responsibility for each delay. You'll also be responsible for monitoring the system regularly, making sure data is valid and complete. If train reporting procedures fail, we'll look to you to make a difference ' from advising managers, through to agreeing the use of alternate train time information, and assisting with schedule amendments.
