Hours of work:
WK 1-Thursday and Friday- 7:30am-9:30am and 12pm-1pm
WK 2- Thursday and Friday- 7:30am-9:30am and 12pm-1pm
Saturday and Sunday - 7:30am-9:30am, 12pm- 1pm and 4:30pm-6:30pm
There will also be up to 4 nights shifts in a 4 week period 9:30pm-7:30am to be agreed in advance with the employer.Salary:
£8.72- £9.50- per hour inclusive of weekend support, bank holidays.Job Purpose:
You will be responsible for support a this lady with complex health needs within her family home in Preston and when accessing her wider community. This is an exciting opportunity to support and provide personal and social support to lady who has clinical health needs.The PA will be expected to be truly committed to rights and independence for disabled people and will need to take a person-centred approach to supporting the client. They must be willing to support her to do a range of activities in the way she chooses. The aim of the support is to ensure the client lives happily and safely with as much independence as is possible and appropriate within her best interests.Accountable to:

It is the job of the personal assistant to assist this client in all areas of personal care when required and to promote self indepence where possible. You will provide care and support to this lady to make sure her health needs are met. You will be required to support her during the day and night. This will be on a rota basis, you must have a flexible approach to this and be willing at times to undertake overtime/ annual leave cover when required.
By providing proactive support to this lady you will be enabling her to lead a fulfilling and independent life at home and in the wider community despite her complex health and wellbeing needs.
The aim of the role is to enable this lady to remain at home with her family which is her’s and her family choice. This wish should be respected at all times
Full training will be given to fulfil this role.Duties:
Social and lifestyle duties
- Plan and support client to do chosen activities outdoors
- Full support with with personal care including bathing, hair washing/brushing, cutting nails, dressing and undressing, assistance with diet relating to promoting a healthy lifestyle and to prevent the risk of choking.

You are not required to have a formal qualifications for this role, but you are required to have an eagerness to learn and to keep an open mind throughout. Full training will be provided by regulated nurse/ training providers. Training is mandatory for this role Responsibilities:
Maintaining health: constant monitoring and supervision whilst on duty. The competent undertaking of all required clinical tasks as trained, in line with the planned care.
Dignity, and personal identity: Understand that the preservation of dignity and independence is paramount.
Shared interest: It is important that support to develop a wider social circle is delivered by someone with shared interests. It is the role of the PA to work with this lady to open new doors that will help her enjoy and lead a fulfilling life, in spite of her health care needs.

Confidentiality: respect the privacy of the person you are working with, and the family as a whole. Many problems can arise from casual conversation about the help and assistance you might give. Try to maintain a professional approach at all times.
Attitude: PA must have a professional attitude whilst on shift and must remember this is a formal agreement.
Independent, safe and responsible Worker: You must understand your role in facilitating the self-defined needs of this client , and must feel confident to ask when unsure. By always listening to instructions and requests you will be supported to interpret them correctly.

You will be required to undergo a full DBS at the cost to the employer and you are encouraged to keep this DBS live at a cost to you the PA.
