Due to significant growth created by an ever-increasing client demand, we are looking to further bolster the team by recruiting an Event Manager.



The focus of your role

Providing support, configuration, design & enhancement of the Infrastructure Monitoring platform in support of internal and external customer requirements.

The Event Monitoring Tooling Manager will also manage technical operations of the monitoring platform, whilst developing alerts and their strategies leading Incident, Problem, Request, Change and project task management and improvements, maintenance activities including daily checks, license management and Capacity Management alerts, and managing relationships with suppliers and business users at all levels.

What you will do:
  • Develop alert strategies that define the management of incidents and their auto raising into the ITSM tool.
  • Manage operations alerts, such as system checks, capacity management, product updates etc.
  • Manage the alert development to aid investigation and resolution of Tooling platform faults, including managing suppliers where appropriate, ensuring SLA's are met.
  • Perform failed alert management and the ongoing alert improvement activities as recognised by monitoring and trend analysis.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, internal teams and customers for alert management and development.
  • Manage alert documentation and produce alert management reporting
  • Manage project alert monitoring, including service improvement, system upgrades and customer integrations
What you will bring:
  • Proven alert management skills, including experience of a technical operations or application team.
  • Experience within enterprise IT Services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure; O/s, Servers, Storage, Networking, Virtualisation, Databases etc.
  • Strong technical knowledge of one or more Monitoring tool/platform – any of; Nagios, vRealize, SCOM, BMC Patrol/TrueSight, CA, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, HP OpenView, Alert Logic, SolarWinds, Paessler PRTG.
  • Strong ITIL knowledge with a good understanding of how event and alert management tooling underpins ITIL functions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong customer facing skills.
