Taking responsibility for Sharepoint related requests and incidents within a busy operational team.
To succeed in this role, a SharePoint Administrator must have a strong desire to continually improve themselves, their team and the business critical services they provide across the QinetiQ Group. They should be invested in learning and understanding the current as well as future developments in SharePoint and its surrounding technologies to ensure that the services provided across the QinetiQ group are optimal and any beneficial feature enhancements are fully leveraged.
They should have a demonstrable knowledge of SharePoint and its potential use cases supporting multiple facets across the QinetiQ group. There will be a requirement to effectively integrate and communicate with developers, as well as multiple delivery teams across QinetiQ group globally to provide innovative solutions to complex issues.
A core part of the role is the ability to effectively and efficiently manage the delivery of an increasingly complex SharePoint service being leveraged across the QinetiQ group. A SharePoint Administrator must be experienced in the use of automation techniques, agile and continuous integration methodologies.
Working within a team of operations engineers the role requires the following skills: • Working as part of an integrated team, managing, monitoring and administering SharePoint Farms, software applications, within Development, Test, QA and Production environments • SharePoint 2013/2016 Enterprise installation, configuration, patching and administration including PowerShell Scripting • Must be able to troubleshoot SharePoint errors • Review / support of technical documentation

Work Environment: • 37-hour workweek applies • Some overtime or non-traditional hours may be required in order to quickly address issues and for maintenance work on Live Production environments • Must be eligible for or hold SC clearance
Experience & Qualifications
Qualifications • Bachelors or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience. • ITIL Foundation desirable
Experience • Minimum 3- years’ experience working with SharePoint is required • Microsoft MCSE Certification desirable
