We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to lead the business analysis efforts on a range of public services that are at the forefront of what technology. You will be expected to:
Skills needed for this role
Agile working. You are experienced in working in cross functional or matrix teams consisting of a mix of people from the client and supplier. You can identify and compare the best processes or delivery methods to use, including measuring and evaluating outcomes. You know how to help the team to decide the best approach. You can help teams to manage and visualise outcomes, prioritise work and work to agreed scope. You have a working knowledge of the GDS Service Manual and can evangelise the benefits of Agile working.
Business analysis. You can take responsibility for investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing and new services. You know how to drive the analysis and collection of information to create recommendations for service improvements. You can analyse large amounts of complex information and use it to produce solutions. You can clearly describe a solution so that it is understandable by all members of a cross functional team.
Business improvement process. You know how to analyse current services and processes (these will often include offline processes as well as legacy technology systems) and can identify and implement opportunities to optimise these. You can lead others to create innovative solutions.
Business modelling. You can model more advanced and complex situations across more than one business function or programme. You know how to gather insight from senior stakeholders and communicate modelling results clearly to them.
Business Benefits. You can derive and model potential benefits from a solution and use this to create business cases.
Digital perspective. You can apply a deep understanding of digital solutions to your work. You can identify the limitations and solutions for those with limited skills or abilities with digital technologies.
Enterprise and business architecture. You can contribute to the creation and maintenance of the target operating model and identify the impact on operational service.
Methods and tools. You can select and support the right tools and methodologies within the common Agilisys business analysis framework and you can identify areas that require a more tailored approach. You can estimate and provide planning support on business analysis tasks. You can contribute to the business analysis community within Agilisys to improve processes.
Analysis techniques. You can develop and facilitate structured workshops with complex and resistant stakeholder dynamics. You can facilitate the setting of business priorities for change initiatives of high complexity and where there are competing needs.
Stakeholder relationship management. You have working experience of undertaking projects within the public sector, ideally local government. You can influence stakeholders and manage relationships effectively. You know how to build long-term strategic relationships and communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders.
User focus. You know how to collaborate with user researchers and can represent users internally. You understand the difference between user needs and the desires of the user. You can champion user research to focus on all users. You can prioritise and define approaches to understand the user story, guiding others in doing so. You can offer recommendations on the best tools and methods to be used.
