Vacancy Details

The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and kindness.  Our main priority, therefore, is to find staff with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.

Could this be you?

Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same.  You'll be providing support for day-to-day living, such as social activities, sports and hobbies, employment, holidays etc along with support with general household duties such as cooking, cleaning and money management.  In some services, you may be required to undertake personal care.

As a Senior Support Worker you will be expected to lead shifts and assist with coaching and inducting of new staff to the service.  You will also be required to participate in the on call rota.  You will write daily reports on activities, as well as devising and updating care plans and undertaking risk assessments for the people we support.

Our services operate 24/7, so you will work in shifts (as allocated by your manager).  This means you may need to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays.  You may also be required to undertake sleep-in shifts on a rota basis.

Once you choose to apply, you will be asked to create an account with us.  This will only take a moment, and will allow us to contact you regarding the vacancy and enable you to track the progress of your application.  We are not an agency, and won't share your details with any other companies.

The Ideal Candidate

We expect our Senior Support Workers to share our vision to ensure that every moment has potential for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.

Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must, as well as computer (Word/Excel) skills and some knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.

An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is also required, and significant experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.

Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.

About The Company

We are a leading provider of care and support for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, profound and multiple learning disabilities and epilepsy.

The people we support live in homely, family-like residences, and are encouraged to participate fully in the local community.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the people we support, adults and children, and expect all staff to share this commitment.

About this home

Hervey Road is located in Blackheath and is for adults aged 18+ with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and emotional needs. It is a specialist transition service that has been developed specifically to provide a living environment which will help to build resilience in the people who use the service through the promotion of positive risk taking and the building of practical, transferable skills.

This increased independence helps to reduce an individuals dependence on staff so that they have the necessary skills to thrive independently inside the home as well as in the community. This will enable them to move on to greater independence in the future.
