Join us in new roles in Yate, supporting several young people (ages 21- 30) at an exciting time in their lives as they transition to living independently in their own, shared homes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service. Initially you will work alongside the manager and the business development team, along with the families and young people, to set up the service.
You’ll support them in all aspects of their busy lives. Initially there is likely to be some hours supporting the individuals in the lead up to them moving home, as well as some hours working in some other, nearby services.
About the role
You’ll support people to do the things they want to do in the community; from going to the gym and horse riding, to working in social enterprises and swimming. You’ll support them to increase their independent living skills too, and in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key.
If you’re new to social care, we will support you gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you’ll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression.
You’ll need good communication skills and a positive, patient approach. Respectful of people’s differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights. A full driving licence is required for full-time positions, part-time hours maybe available for non drivers.

We provide a range of benefits.
All support workers work flexible shifts to provide a 24/7 service to the people we support.
Full-time support workers work 37.5 hours plus one sleep-in a week (pay for these sleep-ins is included in the annual salary figures shown above). We also have some services where sleep-ins are not required and you may work some waking nights. The salary for these roles is £17,051 - £17,774 pa.
All support workers have the option of working additional hours or sleep-ins in a range of services and are paid £50-£70 extra per sleep-in.
