Job overview:

You will be trained in all aspects of 1st line support with the intent to progress to the next level.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To support colleagues as required and learn fundamentals of IT and product knowledge to successfully complete apprenticeship
  • Taking calls via the helpdesk system and phone whilst providing remote support to our internal customers at the other sites.

    There may be additional IT activities to perform from time to time such as network fault finding, system building and liaising with printer hardware suppliers in order to maximise the contribution to Ultra Electronics CIS goals and objectives

    Attendance to QA training as part of apprenticeship
  • Completion of all relevant self- development activities as part of apprenticeship as required.
  • Manage security of information as defined in the Security manual
  • Provide support on standard devices such as standard desktop, tablets, phones and devices.
  • Provide technical and functional support on standard applications and software and support for all products/ equipment on the current approved list.
  • Installing authorised software to laptops and desktops.
  • Supporting devices and users on a Windows network comprising of Windows PC's and laptops, Active Directory and Exchange.

Desired Skills:

ICT skills learnt at school/college. 
Interest in general computing/gaming and computer HW. 
Keen/enthusiastic and a team player.

Desired Qualifications: 5 GCSEs, at a grade C or above.

Salary: 10,000

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours

Future Prospects: Full time position if successful on apprenticeship programme

QAs apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
